Saved searches and settings got wiped

Post by Soeroah »

Hi,

I'm not sure how or why it happened, but I logged in today and all my saved searches, folder settings, etc were rest to default.

I imagine I can't get them back at this point but I'd love to know how that might have happened. I didn't do an update, and I don't think the computer shut down incorrectly. There was a Windows update, if that can affect things?

Is there a way I can save my search parameters and folders to search somewhere I can easily import them back from in the future? The saved search folder doesn't seem to have any of my old ones left.

It's quite frustrating, it takes me ages to get the settings correct for the use case I have and it's been so long I can't remember how to set it up the way it was.

Edit: Looking deeper into it, I think it was just the search I was using that disappeared, or the folders to search within that one?

Sorry you lost settings - not sure what would have caused this though.

The settings, scans, caching and saved files are stored here:

C:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\DigitalVolcano\DuplicateCleaner\

Saved scans are under the 'States' folder.

Everything here can easily be backed up
