Separating out undated photos with DCP5
I was informed that the developers in late 2023 made a tweak to DCP5 that allows the program to separate undated photos with a series of proper settings in Scan Criteria>Image mode> image mode (details)> more duplicate options>search filters. Can you provide what all the required settings are to achieve separating all files that are undated? A screenshot would be the easiest and most helpful. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure of the feature - this is possibly metadata based initial file filtering which doesn't exist in v5 (it'll be in v6)
If your goal is to identify photos missing a date-taken value, the practical approach in v5 is to run an Image Mode scan with the Date Taken (or Date/Time Original) metadata field added as a Display only column under the metadata settings, then sort that column in the results list — images with a blank entry are your undated ones, you can then either drop the blank or not blank ones depending on what you want to do

Re: Separating out undated photos with DCP5
bsacco,
It's not a 'feature' of DCP. It's a combination of Scan Criteria I figured by creative thinking and testing that allows one to generate results that include EVERY photo. Then I use Regular Expressions to mark photos without good photo date metadata.
I created a course that teaches this. It's at www.courses.photoorganizingstuff.com.
Because I think such a filtering feature/Mode would benefit many DCP users, I requested that the developers include a filtering feature or Mode in version 6.
Considering the name of my course is "Separating out Undated Photos", it's likely my method you heard about. Where did you hear about it?
