I'm trying to select files using the file name and path patterns but regardless of what I type, when I click "select" nothing is selected, although the window 'blinks'.

The other selection types work.

same here, sometimes it works other times it doesn't. love to program though thanks for the hard work on it!!!

If you are typing in part of a filename or path you need to put wildcard symbols around it -
eg:

*.bak
*\tempfiles\*
c:\temp\*
