How to compare subsub dirtree with all files outside this dirtree?

Post by pstein »

I occurs sometimes that I want to compare the files inside a subsubfolder (e.g. D:\tools\test\) with all files outside this directory.
In the mentioned sample with all files in D:\ except D:\tools\test\
I want to find all (=only) duplicates with at least one instance in file pool 1 and at least one instances in file pool 2

How can I achieve this with Duplicate Cleaner?

I guess this is currently not possible.
Can you add this two-file-pool comparison in the next release?

Thank you

You can do this, but you need to add all the subfolders under D:\ individually, and then add D:\ itself but with 'Scan subfolders' set to 'No'.
Finally, set D:\Tools\Test\ to 'Master' (in Find duplicates column)

You are kidding?
I really should add approx 7000 folders manually/individually?

Much to complicated!

I suggest to implement and add a user friendly, easy-to-use solution.
The mentioned business case is the most important for me.

Another alternate way is to move/copy D:\tools\test to somewhere outside of D:\

I'll look at getting another setting in the program for cases like this!
